Why Should I Become a Knight

Being a member of the Knights of Columbus isn’t just about belonging to a group—it’s about living out four core principles: charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. Following those principles can benefit you in some very real and meaningful ways:

    1. Stronger Sense of Purpose

Living the principle of charity (helping others) gives your life direction beyond day-to-day routine. Whether it’s supporting your parish, helping families in need, or volunteering, you’ll feel like your actions truly matte

    1. Brotherhood and Support

The principle of fraternity means you’re never alone. You gain:

    • A network of men who share your values

    • Emotional and practical support in tough times

    • Lifelong friendships

This kind of brotherhood can be especially valuable during challenges like illness, job loss, or personal struggles.

    1. Personal Growth and Leadership- Through unity, you work with others toward common goals. That helps you:

    • Build leadership skills

    • Improve communication and teamwork

    • Grow in confidence and responsibility

Many members find themselves becoming stronger leaders in their families, churches, and communities.

    1. Living Your Faith More Fully rooted in Catholic values, so following these principles helps you:

    • Put beliefs into action (not just words)

    • Strengthen your spiritual life

    • It’s a practical way to live out what you believe every day.

    • 5. Giving Back to Country and Community The principle of patriotism encourages responsible citizenship. That can mean:

    • Supporting veterans and first responders Participating in civic activities

    • Promoting unity in your community You contribute to something bigger than yourself.

    • 6. Benefits for Your Family

    • Your commitment doesn’t just affect you—it extends to your family:

    • They become part of a supportive community

    • You set a strong example of service and faith

    • Access to certain member benefits (like insurance programs)

    • Bottom line: Be a man that is faith driven, community mined supported by a Brotherhood

Trip to St. Anthony Chapel

Trip to St. Anthony Chapel

St. Anthony Chapel.

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring an evening at St. Anthony Chapel in Troy Hill on Wednesday, April 29. The evening will begin at 7:00 PM with Mass celebrated by Monsignor Michael followed by a tour of the chapel.

St. Anthony Chapel has the largest collection of relics outside of the Vatican. Relics are physical connections to saints - either a part of their body or something that belonged to them. Please plan to join us for this beautiful celebration.

A bus will be leaving from St. Mary's at 5:30 PM. We are asking for a $10.00 donation per family to help cover the cost of the bus. Please ensure your name and the number of guests in your party are added to the roster here:, Link to St. Anthony Signup Sheet.

Men:       Come As You Are… Leave Renewed.

We want to help you Find Rest, Find Brotherhood, Find God. This is a 2-night retread that will help change our life & your relationship with God. You were not meant to do faith alone.

What is a Men’s Emmaus Weekend?

The Men’s Emmaus is an organization of Christian men who hold weekend retreats for the purpose of discussing men’s challenges in their lives, themselves, their relationship with God, and to help them determine how to fit God into their lives. The men organizing and hosting this retreat are regular men, just like you, from all walks of life. These volunteers have led very different lives. All have encountered problems. Knowing that we all sin, NO ONE HERE WILL JUDGE YOU. They will not try to convince, preach or convert you. Instead, they will share their own experiences and let you draw your own conclusions.

For the most part, you do not have to say or do anything at all…Just come with an open mind and an open heart. All men over the age of 18 are welcome.

On this retreat you will have time to reflect on the bigger questions in your life in a peaceful, casual setting far enough away to separate yourself from the distractions of everyday life, but close enough that you can get home quickly should the need arise.

You Can Register online at: https://christthedivineshepherd.org/mensretreat or complete the registration form below.
